Lets see if I get anyone.
Not really an MTB ride but on Monday I am planning to ride from Kiama to Thirroul all on bike paths, then back again.
If you can't make it back then jump on a train and cheat.
All welcome, leaving from the lighthouse at 9am Monday.

sounds interesting. What distance and time is it? Dare I ask if you're taking MTB or road bike...

Sorry I can't make it again but I have done all these bike tracks and with the new bridge over little lake Warilla it should be really good. Heaps of coastal paths and headland veiws but watch out for roadies on expensive Italian bikes and matching team lycra around the coffee shops from Wollongong on, they will be the ones that won't wave back. A bell might be handy. cheers Matt

sounds interesting. What distance and time is it? Dare I ask if you're taking MTB or road bike... Its about 50kms one way, which is why the option of the train back is there. I would say an easy 2.5hrs each way. I am taking the MTB complete with 2.5inch highrollers so it wont be a fast ride. Not that my rides ever are fast.

I'm in for the 50k leg (if I make it). Is food provided or will my beer gut suffice?

I am hoping my gut can power me through the ride. If not I am sure there will be a shop somewhere between Kiama and Thirroul.

Soft I know, but I hope the weather isn't like today.

Soft I know, but I hope the weather isn't like today. Me too, it was almost as cold riding home from work today as it was riding in.

May have to cancel for tomorrow, my wife just came home from work sick.
If she is no better in the morning I can't really leave her here all day on her own.
Can I??

I went for a short 8k ride today, man I have let myself go in the last few months, it hurt. I seriously think I would just be a burden.

No reason to not come along. If it gets too hard you can just turn around.
My wife is getting better so hopefully it will still be on.

I'm keen to go. I was up at Wollongong today and although it was cool and a bit breazy, it wasn't raining. Bring it on. I will check the forum at 7am before leaving home.

Well what a ride. It was cold windy and wet. And its 60kms from Kiama to Thirroul.
And it felt like 200kms on the way back into the wind and rain.
Thanks to Andrew, Adrian, and Shane for a good ride.
Will post some photos when I sort out my computer.

I managed to sort out my computer. The lighthouse in Kiama on a perfect South Coast day Adrian is excited for his longest ride ever. A glimpse of sunshine before we head off and get rained on. Had to make a quick call to my wife as she was home sick while I was out riding, I am a good husband  Thankfully we didn't ride fast enough to catch this rain. The picture postcard Thirroul beach. The wind blew my bike over then my back pack got full of sand. Finally some sunshine. But it didn't last long The end of the ride was too dark and wet to get a post ride shot.
