Our club XC round 4 at Superbowl on July 15th, is also the state XCO Round 1. This event was really well supported last year and we looking at another really good event now that the State Series is supported by Real Insurance and Cyclenation. There will be a lot more people there than a usual round, but there will also be a coffee van, toilets and hopefully hot food. Remember though it is still our club round and even with change of schedule club series points are still up for grabs. Online entries are open hereAll SCUM members (ie SCUM members with current MTBA licence) can use the discount voucher code SCUM2012 when prompted for a discount. For current info etc check out the thread on Rotorburn To make the event a real success we will be looking for as much help as possible from club members to make the day run smoothly, so please put this date in calendar and bring the family or just your bike and make it another great SCUM day.

Just updated the race info page www.scum.asn.au/2012/2012XCR1/SCUM riders just remember to enter in your normal class (not that keen on Expert now!) and flash your SCUM membership for your discount entry. If you are not a SCUM member yet or need to renew goto www.mtba.asn.au/join and sign up/renew to save some bucks on the entry and no longer paying day licences. Makes sure you bring along some proof of this if entering on the day, or preferably enter online. On the weekend we'll be looking for SCUM members to give a hand on Saturday and Sunday getting the event area ready, marking the track etc and acting as track marshalls etc, as well as the very important timing roles. So if you have some time on the weekend please come and give a hand to make this event run smoothly. Thanks to the great conditions on Saturday for the 100k event our tracks are in great condition and just needs a little pruning more than anything else.

Saturday, we'll be aiming to have the course marked and ready for practice by @ 1pm.
So if you have some time in the morning we'll meet at the start finish area @ 10pm (let me know if you want to get started earlier) We'll start by marking the course with arrows, and any internal bunting required. If we have a couple of people happy to ride around with secateurs and do some pruning would be great, and there a couple of areas that'll need a haircut so we'll have the brushcutter there. If we have any willing operators. We also need to make sure we have signs out so people coming for practice can find it.
After that we'll clear up the start/finish area.
Sunday morning We need to get barriers and bunting happening anywhere the track crosses the road asap. I'm looking at getting that done @ 7am We'll need some help getting the rego and timing setup and also taking entries etc from @ 7:30am
During Sunday, we'll be looking for people to man a couple of checkpoints and help with timing etc.
If you think you have some time to help with any of these things it'd be greatly appreciated and even a little bit helps.
Give me a call on 0429 923 962 at anytime if you have any questions or anything.
Looks like it'll be a good day, ... should be great.
