Did some more work on the track yesterday and today and made some adjustments to several areas that tend to hold water which will need some wheels over them before the weekend. Been working on the SW corner, blairwitch and north of dam sections if anyone else is going out to do work.

I was out Coondoo today and noticed that most people are taking Missing Link.
I taped it off and layed some sticks out to encourage people to go Beach St and Hot as Hell.
If you out there and it changes back can you please make sure it points people up Beach St and not around Missing Link.

Don't put any more markers in please Tony it will be waisted effort considering the permanent signage needs to go in in the near future. Cheers.

I rode the Beach Street and Hot as Hell line on NYE and its in good shape. The tree in the middle of BS needs to tortured and sacrificed to the Trail Gods, such a disruption of flow. Also not sure if anyone else has noticed on the top half of Hot as Hell, a big tree branch has fallen over the trail, nothing that a chainsaw cant fix.

Russ and I considered taking that tree out in beach street but decided it acts as barrier to slow down erosion...'ride from the core and muscle up over obstacles' and flow will not be disrupted! ;D

This morning I rode to Currarong for a swim. Thought I would go via Coondoo as I haven't been out that way for a while. I was enjoying myself until I came to Beach St and noticed someone had been in there with a saw and removed the log rollover as discussed in the above posts.
Beach St is so named because it is sandy henceforth it has many problem areas with erosion.
Now it has one more.
On the rest of my ride I thought Lewy (trails co-ordinator) may be doing some work there and it isn't quite finished yet. A phone call put that thought to bed. He knew nothing of it.
So why (i'm assuming it was a SCUM member/forum member) wasn't the trails co-ordinator informed of this track alteration work?
Now the person responsible for this may not read this forum or they may not have understood Pat's post regarding the job that this log was doing.
The current agreement with FNSW clearly states SCUM have to maintain the trails to IMBA standards. IMBA is very big on erosion control measures. We have a lot of erosion problems to deal with already and we don't need any more.
I'd like the person responsible for this log removal to come forward and explain their actions and also explain what remedial action they will carry out to prevent future erosion in this area.

I've got my signature on a contractural agreement with FNSW and Russ and I have a personal repore with the land manager....don't f#*k us over with these trails guys.
Albeit small, we do have a committee and we are responsible for what happens under the banner of SCUM. Lewy is our Trails Coordinator DO NOT alter our trails in any way, contact him to discuss any ideas you may have and things will progress.
If you need to discuss this or have any other burning issues at all, dont hesitate to contact me on 0417428382.
As Russ stated, it would be good to know who did this so we can explain where we stand with our trails and channel your enthusiasm in an authorised direction.

Sorry fellas but haven't checked the website for a while so I wasn't aware of the problem. I had advised lewy last week that I was going to do some work in that area (it was on the Friday ride so he had other things on his mind) and have spoken to him today and sent an email outlining what work I did and why. He should be able to supply the info if needed.

Myself and Tony are going to head out either Wednesday or Thursday and look at ways of sorting it out. Tony had carried out the work before Simon's post and as he had stated had not checked the forum. We will also be taking a look at Butterfly when we go out to do some changes in some eroded areas.

Rode Coondoo last Tuesday and it was running really well in most sections (except for a few sandy corners) and it looks like it's had a lot of people through it... unfortunately some of them look to have been motorbikes
