The next scheduled race is less than 2 weeks away. I haven't had any correspondence regarding the direction the members wish to go for the rest of the year (as requested just after the AGM) and considering the committee for SCUM consists of 3 people makes it very difficult to plan events.
So we need a race director and some timing volunteers for the next race and I don't mean the Phelan family, they have done way more than their share.....any takers??

Yeh I was going to see if I could make this one so can help out. Will get out over the next couple of weeks and do some work if you want to let me know the track.

I reckon we'll just run the traditional Butterfly Loop. Everybody knows it. minimal arrows and bunting required. Track will prob. have to be de-sticked a few days before due to recent wind storms. I haven't been out there since the "monster social ride" so am unsure of track conditions.

I rode a few laps around there this arvo,it's in pretty good nick! Cleaned a few sticks off track but overall it's in good rideable condition.Apart from the steep switchback pinch climb, has plenty of loose rocks due to dry weather!

I went out to Butterfly this afternoon and cleaned all the sticks and stones off the track. The track is fast and dry...lets hope it stays that way! Unfortunately I can't make it again next week...always happens at Butterfly races.  I have marshalling duty at the Velo Club. If the weather holds during the week it will probably just require a quick ride over the track next Saturday to check for sticks and stones before the race. Weather is looking good this week so have fun on a fast track. ;D Geoff |

Is anyone planning on going out to Butterfly tomorrow (Saturday) at all...as I think it'll be a branch and stick fest after these winds and we'll need them cleared for Sunday?

I can't make it today but seeing as though the forecast is for more strong winds I was planning on zipping around early tomorrow - 6 ish. I did some work on Tuesday and Geoff has done a great job on the steep pinch so hopefully there won't be much to do.

Did a quick lap late this arvo and the tracks pretty good so hopefully tonight's winds won't cause any hassles. I'll start putting bunting out in the morning when I check the track.
Just a heads up, although its running pretty quick I wouldn't go to wide on the corners tomorrow.
