Sorry I didn't make it on Sunday.
I was hit from behind while riding my road bike last Thursday by a p plater doing about 90kph on Bolong Rd...and no, before you ask whether I called the police I didn't. I was riding into the morning sun and he claimed he didn't know I was there until he hit me. I believed him ...many wouldn't.
Lots of grazes, cuts & bruises but miraculously nothing broken...and still alive. Even the bike is ok!
Thanks to Pat, Russ, Vanessa and all the other people who have helped the club during the year. SCUM would be dead without you.
I think we can expect a bit of a change in 2014 with many more people stepping up and helping out at races and also with trailwork. We all realise this needs to happen to allow the club to progress. Now we have to put it into action.
Have a good xmas everyone, see you on the trails.

It was a shame it was wet as it no doubt turned a lot of people away from riding but I'm glad all that did come had a great time. Thank you to the following people whose efforts made yesterday possible; Lewy - for initially plotting the course. Russ, Tony and Mark - for marking the course with directions/arrows on Saturday (in the wet). Paul - for dragging the toilet out and back and for picking up the Subway we all enjoyed for lunch. Adrian - for fatbike sweeping the course and bringing in all the arrows. Vanessa, Lynn and Tony - for registration and timing. ...and the people who helped pack up. Apart from yesterday I'd like to once again thank Russ and Vanessa for their tireless efforts throughout the year for the stuff that you see them doing at the events but all the background stuff before and after...thanks guys. ;D Pat. Would have ben a super fast course if it was dry. Thanks to you, Russ and everyone else that kept the club going and moving forward this year.

Geoff Lockhart This is why I am an advocate of the brightest red flashing rear lights and white flashing front lights used night and day. Its to that 1% of drivers you need to show your visability.

Unfortunately riding almost in the gravel, a bright red flashing tail light and a bright yellow jersey didn't save me.
What more can you do?
Probably ride in the bush.
