Hello MTBA club presidents and promoters.
My name is John Pyper and I am the president of the Central Australian Rough Riders mountain bike club here in Alice Springs in the NT. Yes we are in the middle of bloody nowhere and it is a long way to the surf but we do have a huge rock in our backyard and as it so happens 100's of kms of sublime single track.
Between the 19th and the 21st of April this year we are holding the "Easter In The Alice Mountain Bike Muster". We have been tweaking with the format for a couple of years and have come up with a 3 day 4 stage race over the Easter long weekend.
The race comprises of a 25km time trial and 25km night stage on day 1. A 50km stage on day 2 and an 80km epic stage on the final day.
We are running 25km stages for U15 juniors and 10km stages for U13 juniors. # There is no night stage for U15 and U13 classes
Race entry is $100 for adults and $10 for all juniors from U13 to U19 - YES U19s are $10. Masters that are 60+ are also only $10. This makes the Easter in The Alice the CHEAPEST MTB STAGE RACE IN THE UNIVERSE!
We are also holding an event for U5s to U9s on Easter Sunday followed by a giant Easter egg hunt as well.
I would like to personally invite you and your members to come and enjoy some great NT hospitality and sample some of the greatest desert single track in the world. Be aware that the sky here in April is a brilliant blue colour during the day and is filled with a billion stars at night so if you see a cloud point it out to a local as we don't see them very often.
