As you may have read in the News Hub on the SCUM home page we have lost 8 of our signs from Coondoo. I was gutted whe I heard the news and right now I have no answers on how to combat this.
This thread is to remind eveyone to keep an eye out for suspect activities while they are riding but also to give anyone the opportunity to comment or discuss a way forward.

Hook every sign up to a Dyson Vacuum cleaner. That will stop them :-) |

Seriously though, I hope it was only tourists down for the Aussie day long weekend. We noticed them missing on the Monday and I also had a quick look out there again last week and couldn't find any. So I am thinking they took them with them.
I don't think concrete would work as whole gate posts have been taken out before.
Hopefully it's only a one off

Yes, hopefully a one off, however I now have to go back to the sign makers to get more adhesive signs made up, we have to buy more C channel and then we have to find the time to go out and install them again....imagine if they decide they want the trailhead next time...that wasn't cheap.  |

I'm hoping the trailhead sign may make a difference, ie more information about us, forests agreement, etc...not just directional signs in the middle of the forest that they think they own.

I remember when were working on costings for signs (way back when) we worked on having to replace every sign in the first year. If course we hoping it wouldn't be that bad and didn't expect them to be completely taken.
