Alright, this is how my morning went.
Here is some leadup....
I was looking forward to my first race back since the Scott and I had been on the bike and doing my standard commuter k's for a couple of weeks. I had managed a few offroad k's on fridays and a special wednesday session. Saturday morning the excavator and i pounded the ashfelt out to Greenwell Pt and on the way back I managed to keep with the areodynamicskinnywheeledcurvybar dudes.

So Sunday morning came and it was clear skys, the aim for the day was to complete the 60, not flat out but at a moderate pace and keep out of the mud as much as possible. It my suprise there wasnt a frantic pace set by the lead riders and the track was mostly good in places, a little ify in sections and outright wet in spots.
The first shock was getting back to Butterfly and figuring that a 30k loop was longer than expected. I felt good and not overdone at this stage and headed back through the early single track into the second lap.

The lead group had now splintered with one rider breaking a chain and another falling somewhere off the back. The fire trails were starting to feel more tacky, sapping power from my legs, the air had walmed up to hot and as i moved through the middle section of the second lap my left calf cramped.
Cut it all short, i was overtaken like i was standing still on the way to the furthest west section on the powerline climb and didnt have it in me to keep up once we made it back to the flat fire trail section.
Best moment; seeing others hub to knee deep in Kevs carfully placed holes.
Big thanks to Kev for doing all the ground work, little thanks to lewy for putting the other bits together, the guys looking after the timing/bbq and keeping the drinks cold. Good time had by all and hope to see you all, thats everyone of you, out on the tracks next year!

Let us know how you went.... I went to bed about 2:00am Sunday morning after our work Xmas party (and the obligatory Kebab) and woke up about 1/4 to 11, wishing I hadn't tried to scull the rest of that bottle of champagne, left the JD's alone and drunk every type of beer on offer at the Husky Pub. Maybe one day I'll learn.......

sweet , how s the FRS PLUS, does it make a difference? As much as some people will take the piss, recovery time is reduced, better alertness, surely it is making a difference inside too. Good to here your keeping busy on the bike, is boz all over you on his ss yet?
