Who else heard Mark Fenner's comment about 'smashing it up the pinch climb in the big dog' for his last lap when he was chasing the race leader?
No wonder he is off the Solo 24 Hr World Championships later in the year.

SCUM Round 4. Butterfly Rd Track.
Round 3 had seen the last of the warm weather. April had filled the sky with clouds, the air was cool and the forecast was afternoon rain. There were the occasional wind vest and arm warmers lining up for Rego. Our volunteer members manning Rego were kept busy by a seemingly endless line of riders and had everything ready to race shortly after the advertised time. It was SCUM Round 4 at Butterfly.
As I lined up with the fast looking racers, the brief was short and a quick ‘GO’ caught out a couple of the elite field. The sprint was on for the single track leading down and around the quarry. I managed to be the second bike down the hill chasing the very fast lead rider. Something may have happened coming in to single track as there was no pressure of riders behind me as we flowed down to the second single track section. The pressure soon turned up as Fenner found my wheel and quickly passed, pretty much the last time I saw him.
The first lap was a passing fest, all passing me. I couldn’t hold out forever.

I smashed it up the pinch climb in the 'big shoes' and by smashed it, I mean, just made it without having a heart attack and that was off the bike.  |

sounded like a good ride.
when i thought that uni would give me more time than hsc to ride my bike, well at this point seems like a dream that will never come true. the only riding im doing now is the 5 minutes to uni.
I cant wait to get back down there and have a spin on the trails, good days those scum races hold.
Hopefully i can make the next one, hows the SS lewy
