has anyone else seen the new cranks that sram have in development ?? goodbye front derailleur. google it ,check it out.

I read about this last month, sounds interesting BUT....
Only 2 speed
150grm heavier than old faith full set up
sealed and probably unserviceable
cant change ratios,ie front chain rings to suit terrain, track etc...
still need chainguide/device and no room for bash guard
and it will be ridiculously expensive
The free riders will have fun with it
I think gearboxes are the future for up front, but one of these and a rolhoff rear hub might be a cool ride
