With many people still arriving at the start of race time ,the start of the 100 km race had to be delayed 1/2 hour. This was not nice as temp approx 8 deg or so with light misty rain. With the rain quickly subsiding it was a cool cloudy day ,excellant racing conditions.Overall an excellant day was had by most. The race route consisted of the best and worst single track that iv,e raced consisting of some very rough and raw pine forrest sections and some crazy smooth and flowing native hardwood sections that drew lots of primeval screams from within. Along with some excellant dirt roads and fire trail. Some of that you could easily exceed 60 kph. I found some parts of the course signage a little lacking if you didnt pay close attention and i did hear a few complain of getting lost etc. I did see a couple of injuries ,but i think none too serious. This was my first 100 so i was happy just to finish, towards the end of the pack. In just over 8 hours. With the men machines that are the elite taking 4 1/2 to 5 hours. With Matt flemming in first place closley followed by Jason english, who the previous weekend took out the national 24 hour champs(that is some super human effort.) Anyway all thoughts now to the dirtworks in a fortnight, and they reckon its a harder race. I,m excited! ;D

It was a great race, lots of climbing i should of put a granny ring on. I lost 10+ minutes due to going the wrong way not seeing any markings, there was about 7 of us all lost together.

My first 100km too, I found it pretty hard, finished in 7hrs 18 mins i think. I found the course to be more technical than i expected. I would come but to some obstacle towards the end of the race and think " normally that would be fun but not right now". Good fun most of the way and some sweet sections of track.
