National Bike Path Project

Seems the Shoalhaven City Council have done alright with this Federal Government project. Just have to see what the actual plans are and how long the roll out is going to be. SCC have been given $850 000 for two projects. 750K to go to improving (how can you improve on nothing??) existing cycle paths and create new paths in the CBD of Nowra and Ulladulla. 100K is to go to the construction of a cycle track on the southern bank of the Shoalhaven river. Hopefully the later will be dirt.

In New Zealand in the Rotorua area, inmates of the local correctional facility are employed to create and maintain existing trails in the brilliant Redwoods MTB Park. A great idea I think.

There maybe issues with inmates associating with undesirable elements, like single speeders?

Apparently there's going to be a singlespeed wing.....it's called the "Psychiatric Wing"... ;D
