Okay, here is the gossip on this one.
It will be a 30/60km race format. No teams - individual effort only. Open/Masters/Juniors in the male and female variety. Race Rego and Start/Finish at the corner of Butterfly Rd and East Stump Rd. Rego will open at 7am. Race start at 8am for the 60 kayer with 30 kayers to follow soon afterwards. A BBQ and drink station will be provided and a portaloo onsite. Food vans are hard to find this time of year so the coffee van is looking a bit scetchy at the moment. More news to follow.

Will the 60km be two laps of the same 30km loop or two different 30km loops?

Will the 60km be two laps of the same 30km loop or two different 30km loops? 2 laps of the same loop. To make 2 30km loops would mean crossing Forest Rd

Hi All,
A couple of points regarding Sunday's race:
The 60 K Race start is at 8:00 AM, so be there in plenty of time to register. The 30K event will start shortly after.
There will be a cut-off time limit applied to the 60 K race. If you haven't completed the first lap in 2 hours and 30 minutes (an average speed of 12 kph), you will be asked not to commence the second lap.
The weather forecast for Sunday is 26 degrees with a late shower - ideal for racing.
Hope to see you all there.

I also want to thank the people involved in putting on the scum events, first year at the club and I can't speak more highly of what's on offer though the club. Todays event was great - thanks to all involved.
Does anyone know how the young girl is who came off her bike in the first 5 minutes of the 30km race.
Best wishes to her and a speedy recovery ...

A great ride! Thanks Lewy for setting out an awesome track. That's a big job! Loved how it was different to last year - kept you wondering where it would take you next. Lots of fun new bits (although I could have done without a few of those sandpits). Had no idea Currambene was so big and had that many great tracks through it. To those that got lost, (not mentioning any names Zoe!) you just had to keep a lookout for the signs but that was part of the fun. Ten bucks well spent IMO. Thanks to the timing crew and everyone else who helped make it happen. Jasmine, hope your wrist is OK - you'll be back on the bike in no time.

Thanks to all the fairies who set the course and made Sunday happen. It was a great day for a punter like me - some sensational trails, great atmosphere, a couple of ego bruising OTBs (note to self - don't look down to see what the grinding noise around the crank is as you approach a rollover in the funture) and a sausage sandwich: what more could a man want? All of the organisational efforts are appreciated. Plus, I hope that the rider who went down hard a couple of ks into the 30 is ok.

Hi everybody
Just like to say thanks for a great race. The girl who broke her wrist was my friend Jasmine. She is ok now but she broke her wrist clean in half and has two wires in her wrist and a cast on. She will have it on for another 6-8 weeks. Thanks to everyone who helped her. She is very greatful.
