I did the Urban Polaris on the weekend. Its a 7 hour MTB event that is like orienteering. You race with a partner and must turn up to all checkpoints together. You turn up about an hour or so before the start and register. They give you a map and a list of checkpoints with grid refrences. You then mark them all out on your map and get ready to start. About 50 metres after starting you are handed a piece of paper with what all the checkpoints are worth. Some are 10 points while some up to 40. One of the checkpoints even required you to bowl a strike to get extra points, which my team member did This a view from one of the climbs we had to complete to get to a checkpoint All up we did about 90kms and got 310 points, which put us in 51st out of 99 teams. A bit more fitness and we will be back to have another crack next year. Here is a link to where we rode for the day. connect.garmin.com/activity/20154544
