Make that 2 NSW enduro series.
Rocky Trail also have their 4 hour series - now with an option for an 8hr race at the same time.
Spoiled for choice we are. Is good.

Yeah, good for riders....becoming a nightmare for organisers....just ask Kel how much time and effort went into trying to re negotiate a new date with black heart for the Husky 100 kayer....

I might also add that most of the new series of races are run purely for profit and not for the riders of the local clubs who build and work on the trails that are used. There was already the Merida and 101 and they will be affected by these new races. I feel for organisers like Dave and Emmo who put major time effort and money into getting their race up and running

[ Curious why you think that is a bad thing? As far as I am aware the clubs are paid for the use of the track so the club and by definition it's members still benefit. Somebody please correct me if I am wrong. Personally, I think there's room for both - club events and privately run events.

As long as it doesn't rain everything tends to be fine. A couple of months between major events is good. To orgainise this you need prior planning a year in advance. That is not always the case.

Somebody please correct me if I am wrong.I was not aware of the clubs being paid for the use of the trails and that does make things better for sure. I still and always have had a problem I suppose with the open market so to speak. By this I mean a few races get set up and are going good, riders are stoked and things are looking good for the continued increase and popularity of the established event. Then another organiser sees the success and wants in on it, so sets up another event in the same area. I for sure live in 2010 and realise that everyone is out to make a living and get on, I just don't thnk that it should be at the potential expense of others. Having lots of races to do can be great, however, it will always then dilute the numbers for each event. With the resheduling of the Husky 100 a week before the established Nowra 101, how many riders from Sydney and the like will make the trip down south 2 x in 2 weekends? I think Emmo's race will be affected and numbers reduced, sorry I just think that sucks. Hopefully the numbers will still be good and old fenz will shut up and go and buy his new carbon zimmer frame

I think that at the moment enduro's are the flavor of the month and many event organizers are trying to cash in.
As a SCUM member I don't see myself as having any loyalty to any event but I do have a vested interest in "our" forest and "our" (SCUM) tracks. I spent a couple of days with Duncantrying to water proof Butterfly for THE enduro. Not because I have any loyalty to Blackheart but I am a member of SCUM and take some pride in the trails we maintain and present.
My point is that as SCUM members we need to keep focused on SCUM issues, our tracks, our club events and our members, other events should be welcomed but not to the detriment of these. We've been lucky enough to have good committee's' who have ensured that SCUM is acknowledged for it's trails and it's been beneficial for both club and event organizers. Good luck to all those trying to make a buck, I know it's not easy but our loyalty is firstly to our club and it's trails.
20 cents well spent (maybe) Matt
