It's on again. The 6 hour at Coondoo, this year called the Shack Attack. Entries (click this link) are still low priced with only an increase to cover the additional state forest charges. Juniors entered online will get a $5 refund after registration to the reduce the cost of getting the family involved. The track will be based on last years and should be great fun, and good for that first solo effort or getting the whole family out on the track. If you would like to help on the day give Dave at the Bike Shack a yell as I'm sure he'll be needing a hand. Look forward to seeing you all there.

... and we are offering a chance to win a set of Hygia Usagi brakes just by entering before June 30.

Very disappointed not to win the brakes but I'm sure someone will be stoked, they are great stoppers. I am looking forward to my first solo attempt, I think, and look forward to seeing what layout Dunk throws up for this one. Cheers Matt Watch the Goon Hoon at Coondoo

Callala Night riders will be testing the course on Monday night 7.30pm. Some stuff ain't been riden for a while so if you want a heads up this is your chance.
Chater Racing may also be holding trials and you can pick up some tips from the accountant.
Cheers Matt

A couple of new options for those entered/entering online.
Choose your own number: Yep, if you have a lucky/special number you can select it once you have entered and all going to plan that will be on your number plate on race day.
Course familiarisation sessions:
Mark 'Fenz' Fenner will be leading course familiarisation sessions on Saturday morning at 10am and 11:30am. They are free to event entrants but if you want to be in these we will need you to be entered online and you can select a session to be in.

The plan is to do track prep this Sunday morning. Apparently there are some logs that are catching chain rings and there are some corners holding water, other than that a quick tidy up.
Any one that has some time to spare would be more than welcome. Meet at the start/finish (cnr Western Boundary and Coondoo roads) at 9am.
If anyone knows of areas that need work let me know and we can make sure it gets looked at.
Thanks

And water on the corners? Don't we have a track blow dryer to remove all imperfections?

cool bring those thoughts along with a rake and/shovel and we should have all those annoying challanges taken care of.
Seriously for those that will be there a rake and/or shovel will be useful. Given the dampness out there we will meet at the Forest road end of Western boundary road and head of from there to varous sections.
So 9am at Forest Road/Western Boundary Road see you all there

Not long back from the track and it is in awesome condition. Yep a little wet on some corners but nowhere near as wet as I thought, otherwise fast, grippy and flowing.
With the fine weather predicted for the week it will be very quick for the weekend.
Thanks to Trevor and any others that came out to give us a hand. I may have missed you if you thought we were still meeting at the start/finish. I just didn't trust the van to get in easily on the slippy bits and didn't see any point messing up the road any more.
If you are interested in a look at it at night come out with Callala bunch tomorrow (Monday) night. Meet at Forest road/Western Boundary, but check that thread for any updates

Just rode the coarse and it's great! A few surprises, fast but with some technical sections that streched this "D" grader but young Lukey and Morgs had no drama with.
The forcast are looking great to so the track will be at its absolute best.
Cheers Matt

You know....not too long ago an event like this would have generated a lot of hype and discussion on the forum...

Rode the track yesterday with Matt and Morgan. A few tight trees in the new bit might catch some peoples bars and cause some carnage but other wise a fun, fast and flowy track. It's nice to do Coondoo in a different way even including the dam this time. See you out there. Luke

Results are now up. www.diymtb.com.au/6hour/Full wrap up to come but thanks to all the riders for a great attitude on the track and all the people (SCUM and others) that helped to make it happen. You would have noticed the Callala Bay RFS out on the course in a few different locations, our resident (Callala Bay again) Medic, Anthony Chater, the Callala Bay Playgroup ruining many diets with cakes etc and the Falls Creek Rodeo who did the catering. Your entries and dollars spent at the event not only support the local club and businesses but many local volunteer organisations. Much appreciated.
