Mick, So that you get the right advise, I would suggest going to this link www.coolendel.com.au/contactus.html or call 02 4421 4586 and ask the staff at Coolendel directly. Cheers Kel.

Mick the tracks at Coolendel are able to be ridden all year round. But it is only on the SCUM weekend that they are sign posted and become MTB race tracks. The rest of the year the tracks are there for everyone, bikes and walkers and care must be taken.
Again with help from Chater Racing the tracks have been improved and added to. There was a sandy downhill section in the Sundays race that now has timber boards to hold it together, and the new loop in the gully from last year has been added to giving the more experienced riders a challenging rocky climb and decent. With a bit more moisture in the ground this year the whole track is riding very well.
The race format is similar to last year.
Their is a common 5klm loop that is used in all races. It can be testing on your fitness level if ridden hard and is suitable for all levels of riders as there are no rocks and logs just flowing single and double track with a bit of climbing and descending.
This is the loop used for the first and the night race.
For the second race a 1.5klm loop is added. This is all single track up and down one of the gully's and is testing on your fitness and technical riding ability.
On Sunday for the 4 hour endure their will be a short and long course available to choose from.
The short course is 6klm and will use the common 5klm loop along with another 1klm loop that is a bit more testing on the legs but has a great descent to go with the climb involved.
The long course uses all three loops and is 7.5klms in length.
I hope most Club members can come for the weekend or at least one of the days. This is a value packed weekend for people who are not MTB members as the one day license covers you for the whole weekend.
See you at Coolendel Brian Bates

After driving home from Coolendel late last night after yesterdays heavy rain I can report that the road in to Coolendel had already dried out except for a couple of small puddles, and that this rain will not affect the track for the weekends racing.
Current weather reports are very favorable. So all is looking good for a great weekend.

G'day,
Just wanted to so thankyou to all the organisers and volunteers for a top weekend of riding. I particularly enjoyed the night race.
It was so nice to be riding at SCUM again with its friendly atmoshere rather than the uptightness of the Adelaide mountain bike club.
Thanks again
Gareth and Jane
