My first attempt at a race report, here goes:
Did STM yesterday, it was good.
Appin ain't a SCUM track! With several technical climbs and lots of rocks and drop offs you need to concentrate. The smooth windy sections breakup the tough stuff though giving you a chance to catch some breathe and composure. It is hard but if you wish to try something different it is a must.
Fi and Jo did a good job of involving the Appin community and with the race center being in the center of town it was a chance for both Appin and Mountain biking to shine. The day was well run and with the no d**khead policy it was as friendly and relaxed as a SCUM round.
The combination of a tough track, relaxed atmosphere and teams format makes the STM the perfect place to try something new and challenging.
So how did I go?
Like you care but for those that are interested: crap, ripped a tire on third lap and twisted ankle running back but won a cool sponsors product for my trouble. My team mate did better however but he can brag for himself.
Cheers Matt

Great effort, it is a tough track, especially in pais or solo over eight hours.
