Hello, Though I was saying that it might be a possibility that the Butterfly Rd might be postponed to this weekend (7th Nov) when I was turning people away from the cancelled race on the 23rd of NOV , it has not turned out that way. Recent heavy rains and the strong possibility of further rain makes Butterfly Rd unaccessible to even 4WDs and we need to have 2WD access to the race not just for the riders but for any ambulance that may need to traverse the area...
XC racing wise, that leaves Coondoo that will run on Sunday the 21st of November. At the very least there will be a BBQ on as well as the other services available. The Club will be advertising this round strongly in local media and press.
As an added extra I do have the pleasure of confirming the running of the SCUM 30/60/90 on the 12th of December. Categories to be confirmed but this year will have a 90 kay category for those with long legs and who enjoy an early morning start (no later than 7am). The executive is in the throes of nutting out the finer details but online entries will be available soon. Check for an update on the website and look for a link to the online entry from the home page.
The end of year presentation will also be held on the same day after the 30/60/90 race around 1-2pm. We will be awarding the yearly point score medals/trophies and we may do a scrounge around for some swag so it may be worth hanging around after the race. The plan is to have food provided as part of the cost of the enduro. For those not riding but wishing to partake of the eating, $5.00 should see you right for a bit of meat and some salad. BYO chair and liquid refreshment. Cans of non-alcoholic drinks will be available on the day.
The track director, Dunc has also floated the idea of a car-boot swap/sale meet on the 12th of December as part of the end of year presento. I think this is a fantastic idea and a great opportunity to get rid of a few of those never used bike spares that may be cluttering up the workbench in your shed.
Much more details to follow.
Cheers
Kel.

Entries for the 30/60 race are now open, and entries are already coming in. www.scum.asn.au/thirtysixty/This year there are so many categories and race lengths we should have something for everyone. 15, 30, 60 and 90km options are available. If you want to do the 90km you must enter online. It'll be an early start for everyone and a long day for the timing and rego volunteers, and it will be easier on the day if you enter online regardless of category. If you aren't up for a ride remember to come along for the club presentations, bbq and bring your old bike gear to swap/sell/give.
