Rnd 3 of our Summer series is this Sunday. Problem!!!!!!, all of the usual members whom dedicate shitloads of their time to make these events happen are working. Solution........ we need some new faces to step up and make this race happen. I feel like I keep beating the same drum, but we need volunteers. This event is in real danger of being canned coz their is no-one to run it! If you would like to step up and help, pls respond on this blog or call me on 0422 368 300. While we're on the subject, next fri we are hoping to run a night race, same problem, we need helpers, so if you dont have lights and you want to come along and give us a hand, pls call me.

Yes thanks Lewy, Three members, Dave Stuart, Scott Watling and James Wright will be doing our other members a great service on Sunday and making the race happen. Thank you very much to these guys, Dave will be running the show on Sun, he was also there at rnd 1 at coondoo giving us a hand, so a big thanks Dave!!!!!!! To other members, we would really like to be a couple of events in front of ourselves, as far as volunteers are concerned. Pls make yourselves known when registering on Sunday, and commit to helping out at a round. Check out the calendar on the home page, and pls make an effort back to the club that is providing such a reasonably well priced sport and form of entertainment , for your enjoyment. Those without lights, and therfore not racing at the next two events, your help is appreciated, particuarly the 4hr on the 1st of April at Coondoo.
Matt and Duncan are doing some track work/prep on fri afternoon from 4pm, once again, all help appreciated.
Lastly, keep an eye on this forum incase of bad weather. A very similar forecast to that before the butterfly rnd, (chance of Showers everyday), I note that there is also a chance of Sun. So far so good, and butterfly went ahead and it was quite warm and dry. If the race is not going ahead coz of weather, it will be blogged here asap, hopefully by sat afternoon. No rain=No blog. Check forum sun morn before coming out if weather is dodgy. Will be done by 7am if canned.
Once again, big thanks to Dave, Scott, James, Matt & Duncan for their time this wkd, and to others, pls commit to future rnds.
Thanks Craig

Here goes my first post and first directors report.
Hopefully the race went okay for the riders. The reports from the riders after the race was that the new section of track went well.
Thanks to the following volunteers for assisting me; Scott Waitling and Tony Rigney for their help to mark the track on Saturday afternoon. Scott again and James Wright for helping set up and do the registrations on Sunday. Thanks to Madison, Michelle and another lady whose name I didn't write down for their help with the timing of the event and to Ross for doing the starting.
The help of these volunteers made the event run smoothly for me and hopefully for the riders.
The computers got dropped back to Henry this afternoon so hopefully the results will be up soon. I was going to have a crack at putting the times up, but the thought of accidently deleting them all put me off.
I don't know much about mountain bike riding (go D grade) and even less about running a race, but the systems and assistance from others made it a relatively straight forward experience. I would encourage others to have a go as it is not that hard if everyone pitches in and does a bit. The hardest part is watching others ride while you sit back in a comfortable chair and have a cool drink.

Now all you have to do is spread the word around about how easy it is to do.
