We need a few people to get things moving on the Downhill side of SCUM. Unfortunately Andrew Fellows is unable to be our DH coordinator so we need someone or a few people to step up. We have a great and legit track in Funnelweb and we have a history of people working together get this in place. I'm looking for some people with a passion for DH racing so that together we can move things forward. Matt Grootenboer SCUM President (Sorry for putting "SCUM President" it's wanky but as President I am fully behind promoting/ pushing Downhill) (did I do it again, tosser )

It's been over 3 months since this thread started and along with an email to all SCUM members I have not received any feedback about the downhill side of SCUM. What is fast bringing it to a head is the fact that we will soon have sign off on an agreement with State Forest where SCUM will be making a commitment to the maintenance and upkeep of Funnel-web.
Downhillers need to think and talk about how much you want Funnel-web because I'd be reluctant to commit SCUM to something as hardcore as Funnel-web if no one in SCUM is interest in it. I am happy to discuss it by phone or email and this thread is a good place to have a say or ask any question.
I once again offer my full support to anyone willing to put their hand up but someone needs to put their hand up!
This will be an issue for all club members to consider and one that would be brought to a club meeting for debate and members to vote and as the President I'll supprt the clubs decision.
Cheers Matt president@scum.asn.au 0435568096

No decision will be made in a hurry and it will be one made by the club membership. The club has always supported the downhill members and Funnelweb, when they have existed. With no voice within SCUM there is little we have to support.

Great Concern for you downhillers, XC boys are talking "SuperD" for Funnelweb. Love to see that...the last "XC boy" that rode Funnelweb was airlifted out by chopper...
