Geoff, duncan and matt will be there in the morning putting bunting around the track. not sure what time they're starting. I'll be there from lunch onwards tidying the event centre. Your help anytime saturday would be great. Call Dunc. he might have a job for you and a time.

Just to clarify. Your age for age groups is based on the calendar year not the date of the event.
eg if you turn 40 in 2011 you are 40 for this event.

We'll be marking the track, bunting and arrows, from 9.30 am meeting at the event centre which is where we started the 30/60 race. We also have a small section of linking track to clear, 30m. The track itself is good, very good, as Duncan put DIYMTB on the backburner for another day and we cleaned up Brussle Sprout. No need for raking, that's a polite way of saying "DON'T RAKE THE TRACK". Once course is done we will start on the event centre. I'll be there till 11.30 and then Russ will need a hand from lunch if you can get there later. Lot's of little bits. ;D Cheers Matt

Looked like a well set up race, its just a pity that the numbers racing don't reflect the iwork done to hold it.

just signed up with photobucket as you suggested and seemed simpler and allowed me to put a link to the album instead of individual images. thanks!

Thanks everyone for making this a great event.
We had some 160+ riders which makes it the biggest state round since... sorry I don't know when, but it's been many years. While Elite numbers were down, juniors were definitely very strong.
Aside from the couple of injuries everyone seemed to enjoy the racing and track. The atmosophere off track was great.
Big thanks to the sponsors AvantiPlus Wollongong and Chocolate Foot who provide the trophies and medallions and financial support to run the event.
Mark McInnes obviously deserves a big pat on the back for stepping up and driving this event and hopefully working towards a state series next year.
Thanks to guys and girls from St Johns who thankfully has a quiet day. Vincentia high did great job of providing food and drinks and I'm sure appreciate your support for their mtb program. The Surfing Ninja did a gret coffee all day long
As you know theese events only happen because of volunteers. The SCUM crew have put a lot into making this event work well. A lot of people put their hands and helped on the day, Matt, Russell, Chris, Nick, Dave and others I've probably missed.
I'd also like to mention Fi and Joe from Chocolate Foot who were helping with timing and commentary and anything else all day.
Some key people who helped this thing from the time SCUM took it on
Luke, XC co-ordinator and his dad Ross Matt Grootenboer, club president and track guy for superbowl Russ and Vanessa Phelan, who did most of the work up to and on the weekend, and will still be tidying up the loose ends this week.
Results should be available soon... and will be posted on the event site/SCUM site.
Finally a big thanks to the major sponsors, the riders. Whether you rode Elite or Club D you provided the financial support and incentive to make these events continue.

Can I suggest that every SCUM member check out the Rotorburn thread and see what people are saying about this race. The things that people are talking about are the race atmosphere, relaxed, friendly and well run, and our Superbowl track has been raved about. Our SCUM tracks and our SCUM culture where on display and shone through. Well done we should all be pleased with our SCUMmyness. Big thanks to Duncan, he has done a mountain of work organising the race and the Superbowl that we rode is due to his passion for the track. Mr and Mrs Phelan thanks again, Russ must ride next race that new 29er needs a run, just one. Thanks again to all who helped. Lot's of little bits was great. Tristan Ward was our only major casualty, a dislocated shoulder and some ligament damage. Sling for a week, racing again in five days he tells me!! Take it easy Tristan you'll need that shoulder for the SCOTT. Cheers Matt
