I see that the next race is a time trial. I've not raced one before How does this work? The home page notes SUPERBOWL-BUTTERFLY, is the course over both courses, or will a track be choosen depending on raceday conditions?

Each rider starts out on their own and rides as fast as possible.
Same as in the TDF but on dirt.

Hi Everyone
Next race is the prologue to the Husky 100.
6th of August rego 1.30pm-race about 2pm Time trial so we just set you off in a wave with others, you do a combined lap of Superbowl and butterfly which is about a 15km loop as fast as you can. If your in the Husky 100 you will do parts of these tracks the next day while the 50km's will not. So it's a chance to have fun and see the track.
Volunteers will be needed to help with the running of race.
Any questions post them up here and I'll try to answer them.
Give me a ring if you can help. 44434957

Does everyone have to be there between 1:30 and 2pm to register or can we register and start later?

Sure Duncan
If you like you can turn up later and register and when your ready we will set you off. Because it's a time trial your racing the clock and no one else. so you can start when ever.

All righty then. The timing system for the time trial this saturday arvo is sorted.
This is how it will work. *You turn up anytime between 2pm and 4pm (maybe longer if competitors keep turning up). * You register. Put your number on your bike. Warm up (yeah right). Come back to the rego area and you will be started in the time trial.
There are no set rider start times. The clock starts when you start. If you want to ride with a mate or in a group then you will all have the same start time.
Scum members will be entered in the class they normally race XC in. Non SCUM members will be entered as 'Guest Men/Women'. This will eliminate non members from our point score. I will bring timing computers and the trailer. (i will pick it up from Tucko's house) I will be there in the morning for a bit of trail scratching and rego area setup.
I may add to this info over the next couple of days. Hope the weather will be like it was today. Bloody nice!

Track Preparation Session: 6th August, 9am corner of Butterfly Rd and Forest RdJust putting this on the race post as well. If any riders/other people can help do some track prep work on Butterfly and Superbowl on Saturday morning 6th August, please bring your rakes, boots, gloves and meet at the corner of Butterfly Rd and Forest Rd at 9am. This hopefully (with enough helpers) will be a quick run over the tracks to get things cleaned up for the afternoon's event and the Husky 100k'er. See you there!

Had some spare time this afternoon so I walked around butterfly clearing sticks and debri, it's looking in top shape. Also walked down the singletrack from the trig/dump at butterfly road past the log ramp over on butterfly track doing the same. I'll come tomorrow to help further before riding the TT, should be @butterfly-forest junction around 9:30. See you then. Lets hope the predicted rain holds off...

Some notes for those participating in tomorrows time trial, because we are sharing tracks with the 100k'er running on Sunday there are a lot of arrows out there. The 100k'ers arrows are all RED. The markers for the TT are BLACK. In any case of uncertainty look for the black arrows. There is one section of track (at the bottom of Superbowl) where you will be following the 100k'er track arrows but this will be obvious. Rego/start will be open from 1:30 - 3:30 Entries $10 senior $5 Junior If you are entered in the 50 or 100k event entry is $5 off, but make sure you bring proof of your 50/100 entry. MTBA licence or day licence still required. Course length: Approx 15km Course map: Google maps
