Wish I could take the credit but Duncan has been doing the work on this whilst I've been laid up. Trying to make sense of forest NSW logic with mtba silence for assistance. So thanks to Duncan.

Update "please take Note"
Talked to Forest NSW today was interesting. Once again asked about Cabbage, they seem to want us to take it on.
Forest NSW raised the issue of Funnelweb! They now seem concerned about it. Hunters operating in the area and not being able to control them, bunting being left out there was mentioned so if you're out there clean it up for us please, the roads were also a concern. I stressed that the agreement we agreed to included Funnelweb and not cabbage.
It will now go to Regional Manager for blessing but let's see what comes back, we may need to come up with some "plans" for Funnelweb to show that we committed to it.
Cheers Matt

Yes but when we sign the agreement thay become our problem The roads only become our problem if we do damage in the process of holding an event and even after shuttling 200 plus riders over two days on two separate State rounds there was absolutely no change to the condition of those roads.

You could launch a bombing raid on those roads and they would end up in better condition.

I've just had call from Forest NSW to say agreement is ready to be signed, Funnelweb will not be included.
We shall need to use a special purpose permit to use Funnelweb still. I will be suggesting at the agm that the next commitee look to running at least two events there next year, downhill and or all mountain. Forest indicated that if we can generate events then formalising funnelweb into the agreement should be a formality. As a club we need to think about what strategies to use with funnelweb.
Anyway these are questions that we need think over and share at AGM and for the next committee to set some direction.
Agreement will be posted to me I shall sign and post back then we pay the dollars and we are formailsed.
Cheers Matt

I suggested preparing a strategy to satisfy FNSW concerns regarding the future use of Funnelweb and I have already got the ball rolling. Please lets not be hasty there's a bigger picture here....We could have already signed an agreement for Coondoo and Funnelweb a couple of years back but it was agreed to wait until all the trails could be included...Funnelweb is one of that ALL

A meeting is a good idea I'll arrange a place and time (Russ is busy enough with AM so I will act as Secretary). I'd like it to be before the AM round so we can discuss that as well.
When talking to Forest they are still keen for Funnelweb to stay as is, as in not removing, and thought that making it AM by putting in B-lines was veiwed as a good idea. We need to use it to show them we are serious about it and I think they want to see it generate some income for Forest. $$$$$
We need to talk about our committee for next year because decisions made will effect the next committee as in a concerted effort to get funnelweb used, I would like to play a role on that committee but don't want to assume that that will be as President.
Any other points that people wish to discuss need to be raised here asap, or call me and we can add to agenda.
