Belt Drive?

I'm toying, once again, with a single speed project. Any one had any experience with Gates Belt drive systems. They are being brought in by Blackmountain sports and I would imagine available through any local shop if you push, McGees otherwise. Initial cost is a bit more but looks like it may be better value over time. The frame issue I think I have covered.

I like the idea of minimal maintenance (no oil) and quiet my main concern is the frame joint in a mtb bike. How does it handle the rough stuff? I haven't found anything negative as yet so I think I'll have a dabble.

The only thing I would be worried about is rocks breaking the belt. Have heard it happen to Harleys that get ridden on dirt. (so it may have happened to only 1 )
