Hi Everyone This Sunday 15th we will hold SCUM's round 2 of the Cross-Country Series at Butterfly. Rego from about 8am and race start at 9. Thanks Geoff for all the effort you have put into the track even through you won't be attending. If anyone would like to help out it will be appreciated just on the morning to put up some barriers and 2 parents or others to do timing. It will all be set up, all you have to do is operate it during the race. DirectionsAt the moment the road from the highway to the top of Superbowl is very rutted. We will mark out the Pipeline road track ( The one used in the State round last year. Marked in yellow.) then turn onto East Stump road and continue up the road to Butterfly. Others with 4x4's can take the normal entrance, Marked in red, but be warned the track is rutted. Thanks, See you on the weekend. Attachments:

Having ridden there last night I can only confirm that entry by pipeline is the way to go. A little rough but very passable. The ruts on the down side of the first hill on butterfly road could really be a challenge.

I don't think there have been many people riding out at Butterfly (something to do with the access road maybe :-) ) so if your thinking about a ride between now and then a few wheels over the track will be good and you'll be prepared !
There might be a couple more sticks on the track but if everyone kicks one or two sticks off it should be sweet for the day.

May be best to go right through on the Pipeline track to Butterfly Rd, rather than using East Stump Rd.
Like Duncan said the first section of Butterfly Rd north of East Stump intersection is very rutted.
If you go straight through on the Pipeline Track to Butterfly Rd there is only one tricky little section on Butterfly Rd close to the race start and any drivers not wanting to drive through that can park there and ride the few hundred metres in to the race.

Thanks again to all the volunteers for the great ride this morning, Matt and I had a ball ;D Those flowy and twisty downhill bits were a great reward for the hard yards up the hills!!
Cheers, Russ

Great day for ride. Thanks to those who ran it for us. Matt told me to overtake. I decided to do this instead ;D And for those looking for a cheap Go Pro, go hereAnd if put hbf in the coupon code you get an extra 5% off. This is the cheapest place I have found for them.
