Hi all
As President of SCUM I wished to alert the Downhill fraternity of our potential loss of Funnelweb, our Downhill Track. We are about to sign off on our Occupancy Agreement with Forest NSW but in our latest talks they have concerns about Funnelweb. These concerns seem to change everytime we talk. SCUM has been unable to attract down hill members and have not run races for several years yet we are very keen to hold onto this mountain biking asset, a legal Downhill Track, which has passed every cultural and enviromental test.
Our ultimate goal is to develope Funnelweb so that we can use it as an All mountain track as well as for downhill but as the club stands at present our priority is on our XC tracks.
We will have get some events happening at Funnelweb later this year and will be needing support from the Downhill community.
Regards Matt Grootenboer SCUM

I do not wish to see Funnelweb lost. I am also very keen to see it get turned a little more AM friendly. By adopting new B lines and ramping the back of some the jumps so they can be rolled over.
With the lack of DH members I think this is the direction the track needs to take.
It will also stop the whingers on rotorburn about superbowl not being AM enough. ;D
