We held a committee meeting last week to discuss, among other things, our intent with moving forward on the Occupancy Agreement for our trails with FNSW. The result being the Secretary and myself have a meeting with FNSW representatives next Friday in their offices at Batemans Bay. I will plan a special general meeting soon after to discuss the outcome. This has probably seemed a long drawn out process for a lot of you but to put a signature to a contract with a government department holds a lot of responsibility and demands commitment on behalf of SCUM (which at the moment is 80 plus members) and to say I'm apprehensive to do that right now would be a gross understatement...Commitment = confidence!! ...fingers crossed for a amicable outcome. The Pres.

Thanks for the overwhelming support everyone! I only hope the confidence and enthusiasm I take down to this meeting far out weighs the commitment shown by our members.

I wasnt sure if this needed a comment. Im acually NOT a MTBA lic member yet but for what its worth, I am planning to be more active in club activities next year. Do you need anyone to come to said meeting or is it just for the big wigs?

I'm Keen to work on getting/maintaining our trails upto the required standard spelled out in agreement. I'd be curious to know if the Bardoo Brothers have read their agreement yet? Do we need to reveiw our site safety plans? Cheers Matt

Thanks guys, the meeeting went great, we signed the agreement and paid the fee...SCUM is finally the masters of their trail destiny!! ;D "COONDOO"..."BUTTERFLY"..."SUPERBOWL"... Mountain Bike Trails occupied and maintained by South Coast United Mountainbikers (SCUM)under permit with Forests NSW... ;D A huge thanks to Matt "Riderdown" Grootenboer whos tireless efforts as the previous Pres made big inroads to getting us to this stage. Also Duncan, Lewy, Russ, Paul Musgrove and all the passionate trail fairies that have maintained our trails to a rideable condition. Stay tuned for details on getting signage up....

Well done guys. That's a really big step forward for the club and also the presence of mountiain biking on the South coast. There is now a 'venue' available rather than just some unmarked trails in the forest and that makes a lot of difference for those looking to ride.
Fantastic work.

I would be very keen to get our trails "on-the-map" with the FLOW Mountainbike magazine/website guys. They are starting a Trail Guide on their website and need detailed GPS files and trail details. This in turn will be great for bike related tourism in our region.
Once again ... Well Done guys and look forward to 2013.
