*IMPORTANT*.....Havesting operations will commence in Currumbene State Forest on the 25th Jan 2013 effectively closing "Superbowl" and "Butterfly" trails.
Please stay well clear of these trails and the general area until further notice.

Will this directly affect the MTB trails? Or is it just in the vicinity of them?

More than likely, yes, the contractors have been made aware they are havesting around MTB trails and to take as much care as possible...but there's no promises. A risk assessment (by us) needs to take place at completion as there is likely to be numerous hazards, broken limbs, unstable crowns etc. and we may need to update our site safety plan. These harvesting operations are planned to take place over the next 6 months so it's not going to be a brief embuggerance.  ...if nothing else we will be able to focus on signposting Coondoo first. |

I'm pretty simple,so what is a harvesting operation? is it a fire reduction thing or something else.cheers Tippo.
