We didn't advertise this one as we didn't think anyone else would turn up ;D I was speaking with Kev and we decided we needed to do a 100mile singlespeed mtb ride before we went back to work. With riding slow singlespeeds we started at 3.30am. Waiting for Kev to ride down the hill The Bum tree on Bolong Rd between Nowra and Gerroa We rode the Kiama Coastal walk which is about 12kms from Gerringong to Kiama and mostly grass and sand. Sunrise Playing with the Gopro This is what most of the track is like The beach shortcut around Warrawong. It was more pain than shortcut. 4.8kms at an avg spd of 13.2km/h and an avg HR of 161  Kev did it easier as he weighs 70kgs and I weigh 122kgs. He would ride over sand and I would sink in  The end of the beach of pain. The Aussie standards approved straw hat Almost the end waiting for the train at Kiama after 167kms Then it was 8km home from the train station for 175kms all up and just over 9.5hrs in the saddle.

Mate,175km is 175km no matter how you look at it.I get tired driving that far in my car and it's a 2 speed not a single speed! It's all up hill to w'gong too.I'm seriously trying to get enough k's in my legs to join you on one of your epic rides,so yes i am impressed!

I don't have a real lot of kms in my legs. It wasn't a fast ride and without Kev tagging along I would have been on the train at Thirroul. This will be my last one for awhile so you have plenty of time for training

Great work Lewy (and Kev) ... You've inspired me to venture further North after the G'Gong - Kiama coastal track; although I might try to bypass that long sand stretch. I also need to watch this forum a bit more for your future adventures, that is if gears are OK (next time you head through here (Gerringong) I'll have to join you - at least it will save me the way to early start) Cheers Grant
