Sunday social ride. Nowra-Husky-Nowra

Hope I'm doing the right thing Mods.

Just advertising a social ride from Albatross rd through to Husky and back to Nowra. Have a few guys lined up, Kev Haysie and Myself starting from the Yalwal road power substation at 6am on Sunday 28 April. If you're keen, money for the ferry ( a tener for sure) money for food (Husky Pies mmm) and you can figure the rest. No race just out for fun in the sun.

Well it ended up being just Big Rev Kev and myself for an early start from Yalwal road, cut through Cabbage Tree and then through to Parma, then onto Husky through fire road and single track. There was a lot of water out there and glorious sand, great for fat tyres, not so great for skinny CX tyres. Kev navigated from the last run we did out that way, and also used some of the ad hock rubbish tips as landmarks, they were still there from the last run we did out that way. Pie shop at husky was a bonus, the ferry saved us from very wet feet and a flat tyre along the way brought me back into reality of skinny tyre fun.

You cant go too crazy on cx tyres

I took a downhill section too fast and too crazy, a rock jumped out and spoiled my fun, felt weird rolling on the rim too. Should have fitted the smart sams, a little wider and not like a knife slicing through a sheet of paper like the Vittoria's. I thought going CX would have been a silly move but it was as much fun as the Niner (missed the fat tyres though)

A highlight was watching a Wallaby face plant the gravel infront of Kev, then run crawl drag itself across the road, it had a touch more co-ordination than me 8)
