The rescheduled Choc Foot race is not far away. How would you and some mates like to ride in this event for FREE? Well you can by volunteering your team as race marshalls. You race in the event as normal with laps times and lap numbers all counting in the results. However you and your team mates will be volunteer officials and will be required to assist when needed. For example, assisting an injured rider, clearing blocked trail, fixing bunting or signage, guiding emergancy services to an injured rider. Hopefully none of this will happen and you will ride hard all day with big smiles cause it cost you NOTHING. ;D If you are keen to ride for FREE get in contact with me ASAP. These positions are limited. Don't delay. Russ

Groots racing is entered as a "Marshalling" Team and we are keen to recruit another rider particularly for morning laps. Our role is to man and transition at one of the marshalling points on course where we act as a first point of call for problems which we pass on to race HQ or medics. We are also eyes and ears on course as we ride. Our team consists of myself, Matt Grootenboer, Paul Nixon and my young fella Will and we have a general belief that "its just not that serious" so we will be very relaxed. If looking to do a few free laps Groots on a GROOTS racing is the team for you. Matt 0435568096

Last Sunday 6 of us (a HUGE thanks to those members) did a dry run erecting the infamous "REP Bridge" for the first time to allow cutting and fitting of the final pieces and to give us a warm and fuzzy that we will be able to erect it for the race without any unforseen issues. (stay tuned for a video to be uploaded ;D) Saturday morning we'll be putting it up for Sunday's Chocolate Foot 7 hour. We will certainly need a hand to do this successfully so please, 9:00am Saturday morning at the Dam all those who can give a hand. I've had a look at the starting list for Sunday's event and there is a considerable amount of SCUM members riding.....a bit of time Saturday morning to ensure YOUR CLUB hosts a successful event shouldn't be too much to ask. Thanks in advance.

How is the track looking after all that rain ? I`m looking to run some fast rolling tyres but if theres still a lot of water i would prefer grip over fast rolling . I`m hopefully going to come and sign on at 1 or 2 depending on work . Is that too late to help you with the bridge ?

muzspeed, the bridge will be built by then but there will be many other things you can do to help out. The trail is drying nicely. I dont expect any standing water. sandy parts will be damp and firm, clay and dirt parts 'traction heaven'. ;D Just to be sure go down to your local bike shop and buy another set of wheels and then bring them and all your tyres up and try them out.

Thanks Scum trail fairies for a great track as always . I could not get down on saturday to help , breakdowns kept me busy unfortunately . This was my first solo and my only goal was to finish even if i came last . 10 laps was more than i expected to do so i guess i surprised myself . Hopefully i will make the next scum round . Cheers Mario
