I know it is a few weeks away but to avoid the race being canned it is time for all of the club members to step up and help out. I am going to put my hand up to help set up and setting up the track. I know it is a Saturday night but if you can help, put your hand up so we don't have to rely on Pat, Russ, James and their families.
If you aren't interested in riding in the race this would be a good opportunity to help out.

I probably need to brush up on my computer skills.
So put me down to help out too.
I wont be racing.

One of the most popular events of the year the Dusk 3 Hr Enduro at Coondoo is set for Saturday 21st September.
Yes you read right. Its now a 3 hour event. We will run it this time at 3 hours and will welcome feedback afterwards and decide if it will go back to 4 hours or remain at 3.
Rego from 3pm. Race start 5pm. Cost just $10.
For those from out of town make a weekend of it and ride SCUM’s other trails Superbowl and Butterfly on the Sunday.
The Scott 24hr is two weeks after this event so it will be a good opportunity to race under lights for those tackling Stromlo.
Catagories: male and female solo male pairs, female pairs, mixed pairs. male 3’s, female 3’s, mixed 3’s 3 juniors
For this event we will call juniors under 16.(ie not turning 16 this year)
Keep an eye on the forum for more info.

Thanks to all that have volunteered to help out. So what is need is a race director and timing assistances. If Grant is ok as race director and Lewy, Brad and Ades can do the timining we are good to go. I will assist with the set up, pack up and the registration. I will be heading out relatively early probably around 1:00 as I am looking at running a kids/family race before the main event.
MK It is great to see this amount of support. Thanks guys.

Sounds good to me. It seems communication is the key to getting volunteers. Maybe from now on we post a helpers needed post two weeks before a race and hopefully we wont get to the stage of cancelling a race again. Brad

Whilst I applaud the enthusiasm shown here and well done Matt for kicking the post off, the reason the race is going ahead is because Russ will take on the role as Race Director. We have clear responsibilities we have to fullfil to hold a race so I refer back to my comment in the last race cancellation post regarding getting a group together and holding a special general meeting with regards to racing....that still stands. This forum, as stated in the forum disclaimer, "information contained in any messages posted is not endorsed by South Coast United Mountainbikers Inc." is for discussion purposes...by all means a 'responsible' committee may use it to canvas helpers but that committee needs to be formed first. Sorry for my 'officialness' (word) but thats my role/responsibility. Pat.

Anyway we can pre register? I'm at work till 4pm up in the gong and want to get down there for it after. ( gonna try and get away a little earlier) But even if I just give someone my MTBA license number so they can have a race number put aside for me so all I have to do is come collect number and pay the dollars.
Let me know if possible. Thanks :-)

I will be arranging a toilet for this weekend and I will be towing it to the race. What I need is a volunteer to tow the SCUM trailer to the event. I can bring it in to town during the week and meet up at an agreed place and time.
Thanks, Russ
