I won't be around either sorry ... to assist or ride. I've just signed up for the MS Sydney to Gong ride.

Riders, The next SCUM event is under two weeks away. Yep. 3rd November. Now that date clashes with the Syd to Gong. and now the rescheduled Welby round of the Choc Foot. I know Pat is keen to ride at Welby and Vanessa and I will be helping out at Welby. What the SCUM event needs is a organised small group of people to step up and decide to what is best for this event to proceed. My guess is that it needs to be moved to another date and without some track work done on Butterfly prior to its running moved to another venue. Lets not let this event end the same way of the last. If you are keen on seeing this event go ahead (in what ever format) contact myself or Pat and tell us that you have some keen helpers ready to do the prep work and event day work and we will assist in making it happen. Russ I am happy to get out and do some work on the track and I know a few others that will also, all we need is a little direction what you want. MK

I'm Oncall for work so I won't be riding and can't commit to helping on the day but as always am quite happy to do trackwork prior.

I rode Butterfly on Sunday and it was the worst I've ever experienced it. Russ and I did some work on Saturday bypassing the bad righthander in the start of the first bit of singletrack as well as levelling out the horrendous trench at the start (drop in) to that singletrack and shoring it up with a step down to try and minimise erosion. The rest of the track bears the scars of motorbike and erosion trenches as well as exposed roots and a lot of loose rocks and heaps of branches/sticks legacy of the many bad winds we've had. It's certainly fixable but it's going to take a lot of work and right now I have no easy answers on how or/and when that can happen....any suggestions (supportable) will be welcomed.
Pres.

Due to other popular events being held on this date the event set for the 3rd Nov has been postponed to a possible future date. Stay tuned here and watch your e-mail for notification as well as the calendar on www.scum.asn.au for any event date announcements. Russ
