I did a bit of pruning at Superbowl this morning because it was getting a bit overgrown but I'm not sure if its part of the next race. If someone can let me know the course for the upcoming race I can do some work on it over the next couple of weeks - if needed that is.

You better start now as the next race is using the whole of Currembene north of Forest Rd:)

Ok, it might take me a bit longer than. I know some of the tracks between Forest Rd and Isa Rd have some debris on them so if there's anything needing tidying up let me know. The Forestry boys were out installing another gate on the main track between Vineyard Rd and East Stump Rd yesterday (the boggy bit where they had a gate before and someone pulled it out) whether that affects the race route.

Hey Lewy, probably time you let out some of the details about the nature of the next event on the 29th, or maybe not...

Tony,
Let me know if you want to do some work on the track over the next week after work or I am available Sunday morning for a few hour until wife goes to work about 12.

OK just to make it easier. No track work required (unless theres a major issue). The event is a rogaine. There will be checkpoints all around the forest on the northern side of forest road and you'll be trying to get to as many of them as possible in the time allowed. Great way to explore the forest, and you'll get a good workout.

Ok sorry for my slackness. As Duncan has said this event is a rogaine type of event without all the glitz and glamour. Basically its just a fun start to the year and nothing too serious. It will consist of teams of 2 or more and each team will need to bring a pen or pencil and a camera or camera phone. At the start of the ride the teams will be handed a map as below. At the same time they will be handed a list of co-ordinates with the rough location of the checkpoints. They will also be handed a some questions with SCUM trivia to answer. Teams will have 10 minutes to plot the co-ordinates onto the maps. They will then leave and ride about 50 metres before recieving a list of what each checkpoint is worth in points. The time limit is 3 hours with penalties for getting back too early and the same for a late return. The objective is to score the most points to win. There may be a mystery checkpoint where you can score some extra points. Each checkpoint will be numbered and each team must take a photo of all team bikes and all team members, except the photo taker. These will be checked on completion. I am sure I have left something out so if anyone has any questions please feel free to ask.

Lewy, Will you require the SCUM computer set up to register entrants in this event? If the time allocated is 3 hours then the event set up would be like a 3 hour mixed team enduro.

I don't think the computer will be necassary. We can work it all out on paper as its not really a first back wins type of event. Its who scores the most points.

The start/finish area for this event will be the corner of Butterfly Rd and Forest Rd. Rego from 7.30am with the ride starting at 9.00am and finishing at 12.00pm. There will be a BBQ on completion which will allow time to collate the results and award the Perpetual Trophy(if Russ gets it made in time ). Race costs and BBQ cost will be posted as soon as Russ lets me know. Remember to brush up on your SCUM knowledge, map reading skills, photography and other random skills that may or may not be needed on the day. Also I need a few volunteers to man a couple of checkpoints for me so PM me if you can help out.
