The results are in and we have a new Heavy SCUM Champion but before we get to that the question is "What happened to Andrew Mein our last start Heavy SCUM winner?"
Andrew raced and raced well and could have really challenged the Heavy SCUM ranks but failed to weigh in before hand. The Question is why? let me offer a few suggestions.
* One or two (it would only take one) of the other Heavy SCUM competitors stood in the way of the Heavy SCUM area blocking it from Andrews view and thereby eliminating the red hot favorite? * Andrew, being more of a athletic build, wishes to be thought of as a serious racer and shunned the Heavy SCUM notoriety? * Andrew is on a diet and couldn't afford the calorie neutral policy of Heavy SCUM? * Andrew was to busy warming up before hand, something shunned by most Heavy SCUM competitors, he forgot to weigh in?
We may never know so lets get back to the racing.
New to Heavy SCUM was Ratts and what a baptism of fire it was to line up against Heavy SCUM stalwarts Lewy and Matt "the Big" Kidd. Lewy having just spent the last two weeks riding 1000000000km was the hot favorite but had the 300000m of climbing sapped his legs of the required energy for some of Butterfly's nasty little climbs. Let's look at the results.
Ratts weighed in at 16.5 stonne and had an average speed of 12.57kmh that gave him 207.4 HS points.
Matt weighed in at 17 stonne and had an average speed of 13.33kmh that gave him 226.61 HS points.
Lewy weighed in at 19 stonne and had an average speed of 13.45kmh that gave him 255.55 HS points.
Congratulations Greg and yes we must start presenting some cakes!

Heavy SCUM to be run tomorrow with the big fellas calling out the Rodrigues's, Matt and Russ. Can their fine form hold up against the fine formed Heavy SCUMers??? Remember it's calorie neutral thanks to our sponsors Nowra Baptist Church. Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." ;D

After much hype and fan fare about the Rodrigues experiment this Coondoo round was looking very interesting. The return of Andrew "the Anomaly" Mein (no one this big should be this fast!!) to Heavy SCUM and Matt "The Big" Kidd, fresh from smashing some 55 kilo whippet at the NSWMTB All Mountain race to take out the hard core "Hard Tail" category, it was really spicing up. So how did it pan out??? Let's start by looking at the Classic clash of the titans: Andrew Mein weighed in at 16.13 stonne and smashed out an incredible 19.63kmh to take out the Expert Male category beating several light weight wannabes, rumor has it Dave Tuckerman was stuck in Andrews slipstream like a leaf behind a truck and that was the only reason he got so close??? Heavy SCUM score 316.63 and 1st place. Matt Kidd weighed in at 16.7 and despite topping the scales his speed, 15.07, was not enough to overcome "The Anomaly". Heavy SCUM score 251.669 and second place. So how did the Rodrigues boys stack up Matt Rodrigues has been a stand out all year in the under 13 category easily leading the points score and the old man, Russel, currently holding down second in Veteran Male. There is no shortage in class in this match up but as we all know it takes more than a good set of pegs to mix it in Heavy SCUM! Matt R weighed in at 5.1 stonne, on a full stomach, and flew around at 10.52 kmh to get a Heavy SCUM score of 53.65. Russel with 11.1 stonne and 16.62 kmh scored 184.48. This give the Rodrigueses a combined Heavy SCUM total of 238.13. Yes that's third place just proving that class has no place in Heavy SCUM. Congratulations Andrew, Matt, Matt and Russel on a great competition. Cheers Matt
